Cancer Care Fund

The Southeast Cancer Care Fund provides for the special needs of our friends who are battling cancer, right here, close to home. Transportation, lodging, nutritional supplements and anything else that our cancer patients may need are made available. You can significantly impact the future of cancer care for the people in our region. The goal of the Cancer Care Fund is to provide moments of normalcy and joy in each patient's cancer journey. Our team of Southeast Cancer Center nurses, doctors, therapists and counselors carefully listens to the patients and caregivers to understand their special, healing needs. They consider each patient's journey and apply your gifts to care for those individuals at a heightened level. Gifts of all amounts to the Cancer Care Fund help our staff do what they do best—personalize the patient experience.

Oncology patients and families who receive treatment at Southeast Cancer Center receive expert care with the latest technology in a healing environment. Our multidisciplinary approach to cancer care is guided by our philosophy of healing the whole person through the cancer journey. Southeast Cancer Center was built for our patients, their lives and their cancer journey.

Children's Wellness Fund

Understanding the special healthcare needs of children, SoutheastHEALTH offers many services that are supported by SoutheastHEALTH Foundation's Children's Wellness Fund. Funds are used for programs that support the health of our local kids, including classes for new and expectant parents, nurse home visiting programs, specialized inpatient care for newborns around the clock in the Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and programs that improve the health, The Children's Wellness Fund helps support the goal of improved pregnancy outcomes, improved child health and development for the well-being and self-sufficiency of low-income, first-time parents and their children. Lactation counseling helps new mothers and infants by giving them the support they need to start a healthy life.

Learning opportunities beginning at birth, parenting education, counseling and patient support through every stage of pregnancy, delivery and the postpartum experience are made possible through gifts to the Foundation.

The SHARE program lends support, comfort and counseling to those families who suffer the loss of a child through miscarriage, neonatal death or stillbirth. The Wellness Fund supports programming so that parents who suffer from this kind of loss can find the comfort and mutual support from others who have gone through the experience of losing a child.

Strides for Diabetes Fund

At our Southeast Diabetes Center, counseling and education opportunities are made available for adults, teens and children living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, prediabetes or gestational diabetes through our Strides for Diabetes Fund. We are committed to helping individuals and their families gain the skills and knowledge needed to manage their diabetes and live life to its fullest.

Camp DAY (Diabetes and Youth) Break for children with diabetes combines summer fun with a wonderful learning experience in coping with diabetes in the company of other children and teen volunteers who face similar life experiences. Knowledge about self-management and the practice of self-care skills promote competency and confidence.

Recognizing that family, friends and teachers can be involved in diabetes management, special programs to help grandparents, caregivers and educators better understand and care for children with diabetes are made available in the region.

Hospice Grace Fund

Hospice is a philosophy of care that accepts death as a natural part of life. Southeast Hospice provides a special kind of caring with expert pain management, symptom control, emotional support and spiritual care to patients and family caregivers dealing with the last stages of a terminal illness. Hospice helps people with an incurable condition live as fully and comfortably as possible.

Services are provided regardless of ability to pay with the assistance of the Hospice Grace Fund. Grief affects people of all ages. Southeast Hospice offers a special Children Overcoming Outstanding Loss (C.O.O.L. Camp) retreat for young people which includes storytelling, games, and coping and recreational activities to provide education and support. Generous contributions provide funding for Recollections, a life review that provides the opportunity for an individual to reexperience and celebrate personally significant events through their own words.

Patients and their families often find themselves in crisis at this time and unable to pay for utility bills, medications, transportation, housing and more. The Hospice Grace Funds supports these needs.

Your support plays a critical role in helping Southeast Hospice provide the best care to those we serve. Thanks to donations, the financial worries that often accompany a terminal illness are eased for patients and families.

If you have questions or would like to talk with someone about donating to Southeast Hospice, please call Southeast Hospice at 573.335.6208 or SoutheastHEALTH Foundation, 573.986.6622.

Scholarships and Endowments

SoutheastHEALTH has a number of scholarship opportunities for healthcare students involved in direct patient care.

SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary and SoutheastHEALTH Foundation offer many scholarship opportunities each year, which are funded historically through the generosity of donors.

SoutheastHEALTH Auxiliary and Foundation would like to offer a sincere thank-you to donors who have supported healthcare students throughout the years and for years to come.

SoutheastHEALTH Patient Care Fund

Every year SoutheastHEALTH provides over $7 million in charity care to our region.

At SoutheastHEALTH our nurses, physicians and social workers are made aware of the great financial challenges some of our patients are faced with when under their care. The Patient Care Fund provides a wide array of financial assistance to low-income patients by addressing their most pressing needs. The Patient Care Fund may provide medication, transportation or housing, or cover utility costs, for our patients in need.

Response and Recovery Fund

The Response and Recovery Fund was created to support and improve the health and social welfare of SoutheastHEALTH employees, first responders and at-risk patients by meeting short- and long-term public health, medical and social service needs. SoutheastHEALTH Foundation has agreed to partner with local first responders, EMS, and fire, rescue and police departments as their needs arise. One hundred percent of donations will remain local.

Donors can give online or text RRF2020 to 243725 to give securely through One Cause.
