Types of Gifts
At SoutheastHEALTH, we are committed to providing excellent, compassionate and cost-effective healthcare to our communities. Your gift will assist us in delivering this care, and will have a far-reaching impact on individuals and the community as a whole.
Annual gifts strengthen every single area of SoutheastHEALTH and provide funds for those in our area most in need of care.
Gifts of cash are the most popular way to give and are tax-deductible. Through your gifts of cash, it is possible to reduce or eliminate income tax on up to 50% of your gross income. Larger gifts can actually result in tax savings for the year the gift is made and as many as five future years.
You can direct your sustaining annual gift—of any size—to the SoutheastHEALTH department or program you choose to support. These gifts provide crucial unrestricted funds: a pool of resources that can be quickly and easily used by SoutheastHEALTH to address opportunities and challenges that fall outside of normal budgeting parameters.
You may contribute to any fund by:
- Making a gift online now
- Responding to a mail appeal
- Creating a Sustaining Gift that automatically donates monthly from a credit or debit card
- Make a gift of securities
- Establishing payroll deduction (for SoutheastHEALTH staff)
- Establishing an electronic funds transfer, which authorizes the automatic transfer of funds each month from your checking or savings account
At one time or another, each of us will need to trust our lives or the life of a loved one to a team of healthcare professionals. The Grateful Patient Program provides an opportunity for friends and family to say "thank you" for the care received by making a financial contribution to the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated.
From purchasing cutting-edge equipment to providing continuing education for nursing and medical staff—your gift makes a difference. Donations to the Grateful Patient Program help enhance and continue the outstanding level of care our community has come to expect from SoutheastHEALTH.
SoutheastHEALTH is one of the most valuable healthcare resources in the region, and the role of the Foundation is to support its various departments, programs and services. We provide some specialized services that are not available at any other hospital in our community.
If you wish, the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation will notify the physician, nurse or department that provided your exceptional care of your generous gift to the Grateful Patient Program. All gifts will be recognized and are tax-deductible.

A memorial or honor gift is a meaningful way to celebrate someone important to you. A memorial gift or gift in honor of someone is an appropriate way to remember a special person while at the same time helping others. After you have made your contribution in memory or in honor, an acknowledgment letter or email will be sent to the person(s) you designate and a tax receipt will be sent to you. We do not specify the amount of the donation unless you request it, and you may customize your message to the recipient. Memorial and tribute donations to SoutheastHEALTH Foundation are fully tax-deductible as provided by law.
Commemorative Brick Garden
The Foundation Commemorative Brick Garden offers the opportunity to have your name (or that of a loved one) etched onto a brick in the beautiful courtyard garden area at Southeast Hospital and/or at the garden of Southeast Cancer Center.
